Sears Canada Going Out of Business

Sears Canada Going Out of Business

After failure to find a buyer one of the most recognizable brands in the Canadian retail space is calling it quits; Sears Canada announced Tuesday that it will be shutting its doors permanently.

After more than 65 years of service, Sears will be closing all of its stores across Canada and laying off nearly 12,000 employees in the process.

Liquidation sales at all locations are said to begin in Mid-October, and are expected to run for over 10 weeks.

Sears most recently announced the closure of 11 locations at the beginning of October, and has been going through PR hell for the most of the year.

It’s sad to see such a well-known brand go down in such a public way.
