September 7th, 2017 marks the 42nd anniversary of the The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), an epic melange of parties, celebrities, food and cinematic blockbusters. For those festival-goers feeling a bit of a financial hangover from the Summer or the start of school, here is a list of TIFF on the cheap.

From Sept 7-10, stroll down Festival Street, on King St from Peter St to University Ave, and enjoy free activities, performances, food trucks and screenings! The food trucks are supposed to be epic!
Free Screenings at the Cineshpere
TIFF is reopening the Ontario Place Cinesphere, the world’s first IMAX only theatre, during the festiaval. You can check out some films for free, like Dunkirk or the Canadian film North of Superior. Tix might be sold, but rush lines exist.
Free Outdoor Screenings
Camp out in front of Toronto’s ritzy hotels, exclusive night clubs or just spend the day in Yorkville.
